From dance, music and painting to graphic design, creative direction and management, Tricia Choi is both an endless source of ideas and a creator in the truest sense. As you get to know her it becomes clear that Tricia is passionate about her work and shares that with her with colleagues.
Currently you can find her serving as Art Director at Crackle, a Bay Area-based Web video company that is a part of Sony Pictures. Here she is responsible for the Crackle brand and how it lives in everything from the branded marketing for the site, to the entire user-experience. In addition to comprehensive creative responsibilities, Tricia is also responsible for managing other designers and inspiring and guiding their work.
Before Crackle, Tricia was Creative Director at MobiTV a technology company providing television content and services for mobile devices. Tricia oversaw the creation of the brand identity of the company, including the logo and other brand elements that the company still uses today.
Tricia honed her design skills and developed some of her passion for polished user-experience, while a designer at Danger, Inc. the company that invented the T-Mobile Sidekick (recently been purchased by Microsoft). As with any start-up, Tricia earned a wide range of experience here from developing CEO presentations and helping with graphical user interface (GUI) design to building flash tours of Danger's software experience.
Over the years Tricia has participated in numerous creative projects for clients in a wide range of industries and pursuits. There's not enough room to list them all here, but some include branding and textile design for Neelabags, illustration and branding for Citizen Jane, a political advocacy site and Tiny Prints, a company focused on birth announcements and invitations. She has even worked on album design and branding for hip hop group, Karmacy.
While not leading projects at work, Tricia can be found using other avenues for her creativity. Currently she is performing with the San Francisco-based dance company, Loose Change (www.loosechangedance.com) and recently she put the finishing touches on a room at the Hotel Des Artes, where she painted a suite with famous street artist, Shepard Fairey: (www.startsoma.com/arthotel.html). She has also performed with the San Jose Ballet, spent years studying Shaolin Kung Fu and Wushu, and continues to enjoy singing and painting.
